I've been trying to powerlevel a character for Star Trek on-line the past couple of weeks. I'm almost done so I hope to be playing some BC2 this weekend when I'm not at the range.
I was impressed by the changes they made in the latest patch. It gave me hope. _________________

I was just thinking how great BC2 is without Claymores. _________________

Some chopper flight, but otherwise not a lot of flying to be done.

what about the ground vehicles, are they simple, or do you need separate gunners in tanks etc etc.. are the maps big? _________________ NATIONAL SARCASM SOCIETY.. like we need your help! |

For the most part, there aren't may ground vehicles on any one map. They are more or less like previous Battlefield games. The Driver can also fire the main gun. You have to unlock a Vehicle Upgrade to use an alternate weapon such as the coaxial gun on a tank or the toe launcher on a Bradley.
Vehicles like the Bradley are only allowed to fire 6 shots at a time with a short reload in between. This seems to be a balance thing as all vehicles have unlimited ammo.
Map size...yeah these maps are no where near as big as we're used to. Most maps are about the size of the smallest versions of the BF2 maps.
While this isn't the Battlefield we all fell in love with what it does do is create a stellar environment for infantry combat. Its the Goldilocks of infantry combat, not too large and not too small. I'm hoping that they will take the awesome infantry combat they developed and apply it towards their next BF release in which they will put the same amount of work into their vehicles.
Here is to hoping. _________________

I've been playing this the past few days and I've been having fun. I've always been a big fan of deformable terrain ever since i played Red Faction. That, combined with (for the most part) close urban settings, adds a new aspect to ground combat (can't just sit behind a wall and be completely safe).
The one thing that annoys me is that MCom stations in buildings can be destroyed just by bringing the building down rather than setting the charge. On some maps, that simply means sitting where you spawn with a bunch of engineers and blowing it to pieces. _________________ Anyone seen my banstick?

I like using the mortar strike to clear vegetation to make long range sniper shots. As an attacker on a rush map, I like setting up a sniper position at the previous objective, using the mortars to clear firing lane to the next objective through the jungle. Makes for 200+ in bonuses for headshots and reduce the likely hood of counter sniper fire. _________________

Countersniping with the Carl is way too much fun but people still frown upon antipersonnel usage of AT weapons ... I really enjoy Recon with a shotty in the maps with low visibility. _________________ Anyone seen my banstick?

I hesitate to tell you, if you didn't already know Khag, that you can tracer dart a person. Since the tracer dart has no bullet drop, tagging a sniper and then launching a homing rocket at him usually persuades the sniper to stop sniping. _________________

I found that out by accident! So used to having a real pistol that when i first started using the tracer i kept switching to it after my smg ran out and tagging people. First person who got away from me was a pleasant surprise. I still don't do it often tho. _________________ Anyone seen my banstick?

I'm finally over the hump with the M24. 550+ kills, over halfway to the Platinum Star which will be my second. _________________
