BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE, REGISTER ON OUR FORUMS!This is an instructional guide to using TeamSpeak for all players on the DontCamp.com Battlefield 2 server. This is how the [CH] admins use the TeamSpeak server and how we would like all of the other players to use it as well. Please go here if you have any questions, and make sure you also check out the TeamSpeak Usage Policies on the frontpage. |

First off, download the TS2 Client (Win), either from them or us, and make sure you check out GoTeamSpeak.com while you're at it. That's the program you will need to connect to the DontCamp.com TeamSpeak Server After downloading the client and installing it, run the program and click Connection->Connect. |

Label it DontCamp.com and put ts.dontcamp.com in the Server Address field. You MUST use the EXACT same nickname here that you use in-game when you play. This helps avoid confusion, helps get you a spot on the server over non-TS users, and also affects some of the fancier custom TS tools we have running on the server. If you don't do this, you risk being kicked at any time for any reason(see Warnings on the frontpage). Check Auto-Reconnect just for kicks and giggles. Hit Connect and BAM, it will connect you to our TS server. Hitting Connect also saves the configuration, so next time you start the program you just have to select it from the list instead of typing everything in. |

One requirement for using TS at DontCamp.com: You are NOT allowed to use Voice Activation, you MUST use the Push To Talk option. Open TS, go to Settings->Sound Input/Output Settings and make sure that the Push to talk option is checked. Then set the key to whatever you like. Take a few minutes to play with the settings under the Sound Settings panel to tweak your setup. Change the Test Codec to Speex 12.3, this is the default quality setting we use on the TS server. Click Activate local test mode, talk into the mic, listen to yourself and adjust your microphone placement and input/output settings until you reach a good balance. Making sure you sound good here will help make sure you sound good to everybody else. Finding a suitable key in easy reach of your left hand can sometimes be troublesome, so [CH]Butter created this file. Be forewarned, this is a registry hack, albeit a simple one. It sets Caps Lock to actually function as the Scroll Lock key. You lose your Caps Lock, but you now have a conveniently placed PTT button for TS. This is by no means mandatory, but something that has come in handy for us in the past. Download, extract, and doubleclick it to install it if you're interested. Who really uses Caps Lock anyway? NOTE: In BF2 the Caps Lock key defaults to the Squad Menu function. You will probably want to change that if you use this registry hack. |

In this step we're going to show you the magic of key bindings. With these you can do all sorts of things without getting out of your game or directly accessing the TS program. You can program advanced functions like volume control, advanced channel switching and personal whispers to other players and community members. Click Settings->Key Settings->Add. From here you can create a keybind for pretty much any function of TeamSpeak. The possibilities are vast and the software is very easy to use and very customizable. Take some time with it to tailor it just the way you want it! |
