Hello all! So there are several of us already playing PlanetSide 2. This Stickied thread will hopefully be used to provide quick access to useful links on how to play this game. It is a massive game that can be overwhelming at first. This thread will aim to fix that.
Creating a Character:
Select an Empire: New Conglomerate - This is our primary character's empire.
Select Server: Emerald - Again, this is where all of our primary character's play.
Overview:
For those of you unfamiliar, PlanetSide 2 is a futuristic First Person shooter on a massive scale. From CQB infantry battles to long range sniping, vehicle battles, and aerial dogfights, this game has it all. Think of this game a a futuristic Battlefield game on steroids. The maps are incredibly huge, the player count for each "map" can number in the hundreds and possibly thousands. There is something for everyone.
Free 2 Play:
This game is absolutely free. It is not pay 2 win either. The only thing real money can unlock are different weapons. It has been my experience so far that these weapons are no better than the stock weapons, they are simply different. All weapon attachments, player abilities etc have to be acquired using Cert points which cannot be bought with money. Even the weapons can be acquired with cert points, though you'll be playing a while just to unlock 1 rifle. So let me say this again - the game is absolutely free - go give it a try!
Memberships:
Should you choose to, memberships can be purchased. Memberships offer several benefits:
25-50% increased resource gain
Starts at 25% and increases by 5% per month up to a total bonus of 50% at 6+ months of sustained membership
25-50% increased XP gain
Starts at 25% and increases by 5% per month up to a total bonus of 50% at 6+ months of sustained membership
25-50% increased passive cert point gain
Starts at 25% and increases by 5% per month up to a total bonus of 50% at 6+ months of sustained membership
Priority login
In the case of a login queue, members will go to the front of the line ahead of non-members - (currently not an issue)
Early access
Early access to certain cosmetic marketplace items through the "members only" section of the marketplace
500 Station Cash each month
You can think of Memberships as kind of a boost in the rate at which you can XP. More info and pricing is available at http://www.planetside2.com/shop?buy=membership

I just... I just don't know if I can go over to NC scum. I've been a TR player my whole Planetside career.
I haven't hopped on in awhile since my mic isn't working and for the life of me, can't figure it out.
