Its hard to explain, i just suck at BF4 at the moment, I cant hit anybody for shit, My bullets seen to just go everywhere except into the person I'm shooting at.
I don't know if its because I'm still only level 3 and haven't unlocked any decent guns yet, I don't know.
At the moment I'm trying to sit in a tank or other armoured land vehicle.

One thing that i guess I'm going to have to get used to it the amount of hiding places for somebody to lay prone in, very well hidden.

Ill keep at it, but its more of a chore trying to get better than it should be, I'm quite experienced at online multiplayer fps games.

Not having a good scope really does suck in this game. There's also a network adjustment slider you can try to in the options. Or, you could freaking play with us in a squad Smile

Instead .... just break down and admit "I SUCK at this game."

Geez ... Move on. I am still playing EVERY night with JR BF 1942 and all its Mods @ Chicagos Gamers with a ping of 15 on a bad day using Windows 7 and / or Vista. I think if you upgrade from MS-DOS 5.0 you might do better?

And it's cheaper then buying some new game that you SUCK AT IT.

There's nothing to see here ... come on .... move on. Get a Life.

Very Happy Smile Happy

I played BF3, but on the Xbox, totally different on the PC, things seem faster paced.

Ya, and there's no autoaim and nobody to kiss your booboo when you fall down... and the average player age is slightly higher at 18ish.

But seriously, there is some funky stuff that does go on with hit indicators and getting kills sometimes. The starter guns they actually unlock an attachment for each slot on it so you don't start at 0. I've found the first unlock gun, at least for the engineer, is a very solid choice (I unlocked every attachment for it). Each attachment modifies the gun's behavior quite a bit. It took some adjusting to the game, but I had beta to do that. Just stick with it. You'll be crashing into shit again in no time.

Dan,

We're gonna play 20 questions to figure out exactly what's going on before we make suggestions.

Bullets not hitting your target:
1. Is this a recoil control issue?
or
2. Does it feel like a network issue, lag or something?

As for hidden bad guys:
Camo works great in this game. Discerning players from the background will take some getting used to but you'll learn. In the meantime, be very aware of your cover and never run out into the open.

Also, I promise, we will have a server soon. at which point we can do some testing for anyone interested.

I believe its a recoil issue, i think im overcompensating trying to adjust for recoil and end up aiming at people legs. Last night i found that fireing in bursts of 2 or 3 is better, but only for when the target is stationary. When moving im not sure how much to lead the target at the moment.

As for flying, i find the view obstructed by the cockpit interior, and again the machine guns from the littlebird seem to fire like a laser, does bullet drop even happen? I found myself circling one of those fast boats with the heavy gun and filling it with littlebird machine gun fire and it didnt seem to affect it.
Even though it is probabally more realistic from a physics point of view, i find the response from the jets and choppers too slow, they dont seem to want to turn as fast as they did in Desert combat (yes i know the flight dynamics in DC were exagerated) but its what im used to. And due to this, i have flown into many buildings when i expected to turn away from them in time.

For recoil control: watch this 4min video: http://youtu.be/5JtVdhDA6LI

Simply post up to a wall and fire full automatic without compensating for recoil. Take note of the recoil pattern based on the bullet holes on the wall: Is it straight up, up and to the left, up and to the right, etc. Now fire automatic for a full magazine and compensate for recoil. You probably know already that if a weapon recoils up and to the left, you will need to pull down and to the right to compensate for recoil. Go ahead and dump a full mag into the wall, don't worry about bullet spread for the moment, you simply want to get an idea of how much mouse input you need to compensate for recoil. Once you get comfortable with this, move to burst firing to control the bullet spread. Some weapons allow you to dump 7 to 10 rounds before the bullet spread gets to big. Other weapons open up in 3 to 5 rounds. Experiment. Here is a quick video on exactly what I've just said.

I would recommend trying out the Test Range in battle log, if you haven't already. This allows you to use any small arm and attachment you currently have unlocked (same thing for vehicles).

Another short but informative recoil video: http://youtu.be/o85PlEDdbi0
Hell, if you've got the time, just watch RivalXfactor's control freak videos.

As with all online games, lag may play a part in how much you have to lead a target. Also important to note is your weapons muzzle velocity. There are different muzzle velocities for a given weapon, obviously the slower the muzzle velocity the more you will have to lead. Suppressors/silencers also reduce muzzle velocity, so keep that in mind. There are plenty of steel targets to shoot at the test range. At the end of the range are two sets of moving targets that you can use to judge how much you may need to lead a target with a given weapon.

This video discusses some attachments that can help with recoil:

So, as many of you know I swore off BF2 and then BF3.

No bullshit, how is this game? I don't want to spend money and invest time if this game has a bunch of BS to it.

Comments?

What was it about BF3 what you swore off?

There is still BS to this game, just like any other. Jose is correct in saying that knifing is buggy, but for the most part it's not an issue. I personally feel that any BS that is in this game is offset by other features. The balance between infantry and vehicles is much better than it was in BF3. The aircraft are no longer over powered. There are now 3 classes of All-kit weapons to choose from, carbines, shotguns, and DMRs. This allows you to run any class and tailor it to your play style. Want to run recon but hate sniper rifles? No problem, you can run recon with a carbine!

BF4 is much improved over BF3, which was much improved over BF2. Yes, BF4 has a lot of bugs, but since it's new, they're being addressed as best as any other game out there. The infantry combat in BF4 is the best I've ever played. Not only is it better than previous Battlefield games, it's better than any other FPS I've played. There are a ton of weapons and a multitude of attachments for each weapon. There is something for everyone.

The game is visually stunning. So much so that it's realistic look has been known to cause consternation for new players. The player's camo is actually effective in this game making target identification difficult for new players. It is more of a challenge to discern infantry through all the eye candy. This is the number one complaint I hear about this game. It's easily overcome with a little bit of play time.

Might have to go pick it up and spend a little one on one time with ya so you can get me acclimated a bit Wabbit. I'll give ya a shout once the work schedule slows down for the holidays. Giving a concealed carry class in December as well so that will eat a bunch of my free time up. Maybe I'll give this one a try though.

After a few rounds, I must say I enjoy this game far better than BF3. It seems to flow more easily and I'm finding it easier to play. Whenever you're playing as a functioning squad, it gets quite amazing. I'm finding I'm more able to kill someone than what I could do in BF3.

I must say that my GTX 770 does help a lot though.

Oh yeah, and pr0n looks even better now.

The gameplay balance is better and popular features from BF2 have returned, so this finally feels like a proper sequel to BF2.
