Below is a PM from Osman to Super Wabbit. What follows is my reply, written both to Osman and as a matter of public record.

This is a terrible message you sent me. I am shocked that you would call one of my clan mates (Dontcamp is not a clan) "shitty." You have made no effort to get to know us. Our only correspondences to this date have been arguments and complaints. I personally take offense to you calling my friends shitty and power hungry. If you got to know us, you would realize how incorrect your opinions of them are. You would understand how hard admins like Clavis work to keep the server running smoothly. They all are extremely generous in donating their limited free time to make sure that players have a good time here. How dare you belittle their efforts without understand anything about them, or the Dontcamp community as a whole.
No one started any shit with you. We were willing to help and I even see the NTolerance tried to verify the claim for you. Since he was unable to verify we could not take direct action. Please understand that he dropped what he was doing to personally help you and his reward was that you were completely disrespectful towards him. Please understand that we can't kick or ban people based solely on the word of another random player. We have to verify these claims.
Let me also emphasize that constant complaining in-game is disruptive. You were muted because you kept arguing about said camper. This is not the first time you've constantly complained about something while in-game. In every case you failed to follow our directions. At this point, it is like you are crying wolf. That's not cool. Stop that.
It has been our experience that the accusations of hacking are more disruptive to the gaming environment than the actual hacker. This is why we ask players to post evidence in the forums of hackers/cheaters. Make no doubt, we do not accept cheaters here but you can't be paranoid that everyone is cheating. Constantly arguing while in-game is to be avoided at all costs. No one likes playing on a server with people spamming chat about hackers.

Damn straight you could have worded this better.
We, the entire Dontcamp staff and community members, do not agree with your opinion that it is "safer to think someone is cheating." This is just like assuming someone is guilty until proven innocent. If that is what you believe then I don't think Dontcamp is a good fit for you.

I encourage all of our community members to be open, honest and frank with me and all of the Dontcamp staff. If there is a problem with any of us, we will review the evidence and make changes accordingly. I personally do not appreciate you threatening to go over someone's head to get action taken. There is no need for that. The command structure here at Dontcamp is very flat, meaning that we have no levels of intervening management between staff and executives...meaning that there are no heads to go over.
You are not banned from Dontcamp and are free to play here. Please keep the hacking, cheating, arguing talk on the forums. I believe in second chances. Many a player has come here hot headed, much like yourself, only to be come long-time and much appreciated Dontcamp regulars. Are you a future Dontcamper? |
