so who do I corner to answer questions about the game. I was going to buy a ship but damn, there's way too much unknow stuff to make an informed decision.

Oh I got that, but doing some more digging for info first before bothering you with stuff that might be obvious with some reading.

There's just so many unknowns right now it's hard to use what's available as a ship purchasing decision.

If you buy a ship and decide you want a different one instead, you can cash it in on the website and use the funds to purchase your new ship (no value is lost).

The one caveat to this is that if you buy a ship package which includes Alpha access, you'll lose that Alpha access if you melt that ship down. Alpha access can be purchased for each module for $5 and it seems that there will only be three Alpha modules. So you're not out a huge amount of money.

Basically, it seems that if you want to play with lots of different ships during the Alpha, you should buy a second ship and consider melting it if you want something else and just leave your first ship alone. Or wait until Beta starts to melt ships.

Well as far as I know there is no more alpha access with ship purchases and they all need the $5 arena commander module purchase.
