...we’ll have what we determine is a minimum viable product feature list for what you would call Star Citizen the commercial release which is basically when you say, “Okay, we’ve gotten to this point and we’ve still got plans to add a lot more cool stuff and more content and more functionality and more features…” – Which by the way includes some of the later stretch goals we have because not all of that is going to be for ‘absolutely right here’ on the commercial release.

...

Really Roberts? Really?

I'm surprised that people haven't shown up at his house with tar, feathers, rope, pitchforks and torches.

Also, aren't stretchgoals what people are actually paying for? He's turning this thing into the biggest video game ponzi scheme ever. If he doesn't come through with this thing he'll do more damage to the industry than EA/Dice did with BF4 and Hardline.

I felt that way after battlecruiser 3000, but eh. This is exactly the sort of language we use internally at $job when talking about products, and I find it refreshing to see it being talked about publicly. Keeping tabs on the tremendous amount of PR material they release is impossible, but so far I'm still thinking they're making good progress and don't see any evidence that they won't deliver. Shit just takes (a lot of) time...

Normally I'd be right there with you MTL, nothing bothers me more than overpromising and underdelivering. I'm sure No Man's Sky buyers know that feeling all too well.

Call me a sheep if you want but I've backed SC finally after sitting on the fence for 3 years. I think it will eventually amount to most of the things he's promised, even if it does take years. I'm also still very excited to see it all evolve, it's nice to actually have a (mostly) working product we can test out right now.

I'll probably lurk around teamspeak more often looking for people to hook up with in SC.
