If you haven't tried this class you need to. This is a quick class guide for those of you who have not tried it. If you are familiar with Heavy Assault, most of this will be redundant but the charts and numbers may be new to you.
The number 1 reason to run as a Heavy Assault is survive-ability. As with all classes, spending cert points on Nanoweave Armor will increase your health hit points. Remember that all classes have a personal shield worth 500 hit points (HP). So, Total HP = Health + Shield Health. Nanoweave Armor is essentially a class's health. For a relatively small amount of cert points you can get this to Level 4 which will increase your health by 20%:
Code: | Level - Cost - Effect
1 1 Increases health by 10.0% - HP = 550 - Total HP = 1,050
2 10 Increases health by 12.5% - HP = 562.5 - Total HP = 1,062.5
3 50 Increases health by 15.0% - HP = 575 - Total HP = 1,075
4 150 Increases health by 20.0% - HP = 600 - Total HP = 1,100
5 1000 Increases health by 25.0% - HP = 625 - Total HP = 1,125 |
Nanite Mesh Generator:
In addition to the standard personal shield that all classes have, Heavy Assault is also equipped with a Nanite Mesh Generator by default. When activated (by pressing F) the shield adds an addition 700 HP to your player. The shield drains over time or if your are taking damage. This shield mitigates all incoming damage until it's charge is depleted. It is this shield that makes you so tough. For reference, most bullets do 143 HP worth of damage. Heavy Assaults will take an extra 5 bullets to kill.
Bottom Line on the different types of shields:
- Resist Shield benefits proactive players who activate the shield before combat or before taking more than one or two bullets in a fight.
- NMG/Adrenaline shield benefits reactive players who activate the shield during combat after taking more than one or two bullets in a fight. It may also be preferred by anti-vehicle focused Heavies.
