Thanks to everyone who has helped us seed the server! We've had some decent success getting it populated for prime time, but we know we can do even better!
A big part of seeding is keeping our seeder numbers up and then combining those player numbers with appropriate map rotations and game settings. Right now we're running Conquest Large with Caspian and Golmud only. It's possible that we could change to a Domination or Obliteration "seeding mode" and see a big uptick or downtick in popularity. We don't know for sure!
So here's what we're going to do - gather and use data! We recently installed a plugin on our server that logs server stats to a database. We need more data and more testing to draw conclusions. This testing period could take several weeks. Every week or so we'll try a different mode/map rotation and gather stats on player count. In a month or so we'll review the data and choose which mode/rotation to use for seeding to have the best server we can. |
