I love the carbines. I love that they can be used on all kits. It's great that I'm able to run what is essentially an assault rifle on any class. Makes class switching based on situation easier as you can retain you anti-infantry abilities across the classes.
I think this was a mistake. If you recall in BF3, Engineers got carbines and the all kit weapons were the PDW's. What if someone missed 1 value and coded these two weapon classes incorrectly? |

Certainly the ARs have a small advantage over the carbines. Most of the weapon balance in BF4 is quite good, which is one reason why I like this game so much. It's great that an engineer with a carbine can compete against other classes without being too OP. |

The only thing i think teh Engineer class is lacking is the ability to Carry Anti-Air and Anti-Vehicle weapons at the same time, Id glady sacrifice a gadget slot for a Stinger. |

What I'm trying to say is that it may have been a mistake that the engineers are given PDWs. Seems like PDWs would be more akin to All-Kits weapons more so than carbines. This is how it worked in BF3.
With all the stupid bugs in BF4, I would not put it past them that someone made a mistake and the game shipped with carbines as All-Kits weapons. |
