Today I finally got to fire some real guns for the first time in my life. Fired Glock 44 (or 45) , Ak47, pump action shotgun and a Magnum .45.
pictures and video to follow, loved every minute of it.

You'll never forget your first time. I know I don't. I still remember each weapon I fired my first time out to a range. Great way to spend some time, I've never had a bad day at the range.
Which one was your favorite and why? |

Ok, I'm back home now from my trip.
What an awesome experience, I wish the UK would allow shooting ranges.
The Session Started off with a safety briefing, which was very clear. We then went into a 4 bay range where we started on a sporting piston, I think it was a .22, but it was defiantly weaker than the Glock.
I then had a go at an AK47, Oh my, what a gun. I was very surprised with the recoil it had, but once the first round had been shot, I was ready for the next one, We only got about 6 bullets with the AK47 so the experience didn't last long, I'm still trying to imagine shooting one on full auto and hitting a target!
We then went onto the Shotgun range, not sure of the type but it had a long-ish barrel and was pump action (oh and BTW, using the pump action between shots made me feel so badass lol)
Instead of paper targets, we shot steel plates on hinges that fall down when you hit, i think the range was 10m, (I got all 5 down)
This was meant to be the end of the session, But I paid more to have 20 rounds with a Glock 45 and 1 round with a Magnum .44 (I know the low ammo count may seem a joke but it was quite expensive, the 1 Magnum round was £7) But i had to do it, I couldn't walk away from the chance to shoot such an Iconic gun.
The video below shows me shooting the Glock and Magnum. Sorry about the poor image quality, it was shot through a dirty safety screen.

This is the Target from the Glock and Magnum, I think I did ok-ish.
what annoyed me though, was the fact that the central target area was Black, so i couldnt see where my shots were landing each shot, i could have adjusted my aim a little if i could see the holes.
I think the Magnum was the hole in number 6, its Black around the edges for some reason
Below is from the AK47 and Sporting Pistol

Hooking that trigger finger then. No worries that's easy enough to fix. If you find yourself in my neck of the woods and you want to do some more shooting, let me know. The only limit on the number of rounds we'd shoot is only limited by time... |

Hooking? I take it that there is a technique for pulling the trigger that does not involve "hooking" your finger around it?
Oh and believe me when I say, it is my intention to one day come out and see you guys, and when I do, we ARE going shooting.. then Steaks and Beer afterwards.
