I'm guessing "scope bite" - where the eye is too close to a rifle scope and the recoil kicks it back to the head. Since head wounds bleed like crazy...it usually looks worse than it is.

On a related note - I finally had a chance to spend some quality time with my new AKM47 today. A very fun rifle to shoot!

I too spent the day shooting...a lot. We had to let some of them sit an cool a little while in the shade. That AK is a 7" SBR and the fire ball it produced was epic.
