|
Serves 28
2 fifths bourbon
1 fifth rum
1 fifth brandy
(this year I replaced the brandy with Gran Marne, I'll let you know how it comes out)
28 eggs (not kidding)
1 gallon whole milk
4 quarts heavy cream
8 cups of sugar
nutmeg
Optional: 1 tblspn GOOD vanilla extract
Separate the eggs
Whip the egg yolks till very light yellow and fluffy
VERY slowly whip in the alcohol. All of it. Seriously.
Add some nutmeg, and some vanilla if you choose.
Let the "nog" sit at least overnight in the fridge
Mix the sugar into the milk
Mix the milk and "nog" together.
whip the cream to soft peaks
whip the egg whites to soft peaks
fold the cream and egg whites into the "nog"
sprinkle nutmeg over the top and SERVE!!!

Ok, did the final Nog assembly and testing tonight, and the Gran Marne experiment is a ROUSING success. I think I have a new favorite! |
