Thanks for the feedback - we'd like to see more of this on the forums. Having it here helps to admin the server since on Teamspeak we're too busy playing the game to muck about in Procon.
At any rate, this type of game mode is a favorite of this community going back to 2006 when we had a Counter-Strike GunGame server. I think the reason we like it is because it completely avoids the favorite/best weapon whoring that goes on in so many games. So there's an interesting aspect of balance to the mode that's lacking in other modes where everyone gravitates to the pro kits. |

I get the appeal, it's just a very hard contrast to the other more strategic gamemodes. I'm also extremely biased seeing as I hate DM of any sort. However I was not the only one complaining about the gamemode so felt I needed to post something.

Ah,
There are different presets for Gun master:
Standard - BF4's take on this. Pretty decent progression of guns. It isn't a straight up hard gun to easy gun progression but more of a random set
Classic - Based on BF3's progression. Starts with pistols, then carbines, assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles.
Pistol - pistol only!
DLC - All DLC weapons regardless if you own the expansion of have any of them unlocked.
Troll - Just that, starts with the shield...
We're running some code that is supposed to randomize these presets. As it stands now, I think the most fun is Standard. Classic isn't as fun because as you progress, the guns get easier to kill with. You start with pistols and progress to automatic weapons. New players coming into the middle of the round are at a huge disadvantage. Standard gets around this by not doing a hard to easy gun progression but with a "random" progression.
